Working Groups

The Action will be implemented with five Working Groups, specializing on (1) training and dissemination, multi-disciplinary work towards (2) foam and cryogenic targets, (3) structured targets, and (4) doped targets, as well as the (5) drafting of a roadmap for sustainable target supply. Globally, Working Groups (2 – 4) focus on tasks involving experimental studies and theoretical modelling, i.e. their design and optimization, including analysis of results. Researchers working on theory and numerical methods will be brought into contact with experimentalists, to create closed feedback loops (a-b-a) that inform (a) the development and validation of the code chain as well as (b) the design of further experimental studies. These global networking activities will aid to resolve the challenge of uniting small and fragmented initiatives to a new community for application-oriented IFE targetry. The experimental and theoretical work will benefit from programs and infrastructure which are already established at various facilities. WGs will encourage preparation of scientific proposals to access large scale user-facilities and supercomputing platforms.
